Self Love Is In The Air.
Take a moment to stop and congratulate yourself. You made it through January! Notoriously the most difficult month of the year (and it can often feel like it alone has 365 days), and you got to the end. Take a deep inhale with me now. Through your nose, into your belly. And sigh it all out. And now you can take a gigantic leap into February.
February is famous for one thing in particular – Valentines Day. Whether you love it or loath it, I believe this day shouldn’t be skipped. Not because of your significant other (if you have one), but for your own self love. Now it shouldn’t take one day for you to acknowledge you love someone, let alone yourself, but the fact of the matter is so many of us don’t love ourselves enough, or make the time to love ourselves. So having a day in the diary to kick the self lovin’ off can only be a good thing. I will write more about my experience with self love later on in the month. But ask yourself now, do you truly love yourself? If the answer is no, isn’t it time you started? You are the only person you have to spend the rest of your life with, so if you don’t love yourself it will make that journey harder and longer. And I’m not talking self care, although this is super important too and does contribute to your sense of self love. There is a big difference between putting a face mask on to appear you are loving yourself and being able to look yourself in the eye in the mirror and tell yourself that you love you, and MEAN it.
Self love is a journey that is definitely a marathon, not a sprint. It’s a lifelong commitment to yourself that you grow towards by putting one foot in front of the other day by day.
So seeing as we are in the month of love, whether you are with a partner or not, why don’t you commit to finding a sense of self love this month. Feb 14th is on a Sunday this year. Which is PERFECT, because it makes it that little bit easier to book in a personal date day. Give yourself the day, which will lead to the month, and then the LIFETIME to nurture your most important relationship. The one with yourself.
This month Compassionate Awakened Living continues with classes on Zoom. On Wednesday’s we have Vinyasa Flow for all levels at 7.30PM for your weekly yoga fix. One hour of Pranayama (breath work), flow and relaxation/meditation. Thursday’s is your spot for evening meditation at 8.00PM, giving you a loving space to guide yourself into stillness. Your first session of either of the above is FREE.
I was delighted to launch Children’s After School Club Yoga via Zoom in January under Compassionate Awakened Youth. These classes are for two age groups – 7-11 year olds on Wednesday’s at 4.00PM (Flow and Games) and 3-6 year olds on Thursday’s at 4.00PM (Yoga Stories, Mindfulness and Breath). These classes are a fantastic way to bring yoga and mindfulness into your child’s every day life, enhancing their silliness and creativity and building mind/body awareness, which is so important for understanding their own emotions! All whilst giving you a break after a day of home schooling! Check out my video feature that I am running alongside these classes, ‘The Mindfulness Minute’, where I give you mindfulness exercises lasting no more than a minute that will enhance your child’s and family’s life (No children, no problem! Give it a go anyway!). Find these videos on my Youtube Channel, Facebook or Instagram page.
I am also running compassion passes at this time. This means that if you are struggling financially you or your child can enter any of my sessions for FREE. Please just let me know upon booking the session.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email if you have any questions or wish to book any of the above sessions.
Moon Baths are on hold at the moment due to government guidelines, however I look forward to the future with hope and optimism and I cannot wait to welcome you all back into the studio soon.
Wishing you a February full of devoted self love.
With Love, Light & Best Wishes,
Ciara X
