Happy New Year Everybody!
I am so excited to be sharing this newsletter with this wonderful community at the beginning of this year.
How many times over the years have you uttered the words ‘New Year, New Me’ (if not out loud, in your head) and ploughed forward with all manner of New Years resolutions that you weren’t all too enthusiastic about in the first place? We all laugh at this seemingly cliché phrase, but I do firmly believe that the New Year is a good time to consider who you wish to re-emerge as after the retreat inwards that a Winter break can bring. How do you want to show up for yourself, for others and for the world in the next 365 days? How do you want to have grown by this point next year (and take time to congratulate yourself on how you’ve grown since last year). The key to sustaining the intentions that come forth is to start with little goals that are achievable for where you are at in your life at this moment. During your year you can reflect on how each little change has made you feel and then build upon it when it feels appropriate. For example , you may wish to start your year by vowing to drink a glass of lemon water first thing upon waking in the morning. A few months down the line you may have noticed that this gives your mornings more structure and vitality, and so you begin to discover more small ways you can bring this feeling into your life. The small steps add up to the big picture. I have found journal writing to be a beautiful outlet for reflection, expression, creativity and freedom. This could help you also to record the progress you have made. The written word is powerful. YOUR written word is sacred.
Since the end of last year we have begun to emerge into the age of Aquarius, and a more loving, connected era awaits us should we choose to step into it. This will be an age where we realise our true connection to each other and our mother – this Earth. If you are unsure where to start when uncovering this connection, I invite you to join this community further by attending one of my Yoga or meditation sessions.
From the week commencing 11th January I will be offering Vinyasa Flow Yoga for all levels on Wednesday’s at 7.30PM and meditation sessions on Thursday’s at 8.00PM. At present these will be held via Zoom and I will be reviewing whether to hold them in person as guidelines are updated.
My mum Sam and I are hoping to host a Moon Bath on Friday 29th January for the full moon in Leo from 7.00PM-9.00PM at Saints Green Place (subject to government guidelines). In December I hosted the charity event ‘Seasonal Sunshine’, with all proceeds going to Kids Inspire children’s charity. The recording is available at a £15.00 donation via the Seasonal Sunshine Just Giving page. For more information on moon baths, the beautiful ‘Seasonal Sunshine’ charity event, how to get your hands on the recording and all classes please get in touch. I would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
As well as my regular classes, I have some hugely exciting developments for the evolution of this space in 2021. From new offerings I feel I have been called to action for, to courses that will help me expand my knowledge to serve you better. I will be starting 2021 with a bang with an announcement towards the end of next week.
My beautiful mentor and friend Catherine Gallagher (visionary of Yoga With Catherine) guided me through one of her classes to find my ‘word’ of 2021. This word that I will intend to carry through the year is LOVE. And the below quote, my favourite quote, encapsulates this perfectly. In this quote I see the ‘someone’ as this great universe we reside in:
‘Being deeply loved by someone gives us strength. Loving someone deeply gives us courage’. – Lao Zi.
Do you have a quote to take through 2021? If so, I’d love to hear it in the comments below.
Wishing you a cracking start to the year.
With Love, Light & Best Wishes,
